![]() Eclipse is good for Java, Padre is focused on Perl, etc. I program in a number of different languages (Perl, C, Java, batch, makefile.) and work with a lot of different text formats (YAML, XML, TAP, custom.) IDEs tend to be focused on a single language/environment. However, wait a couple of years and I'll probably be demanding it, or something like it.įor me there are two main (and interrelated) drivers: flexibility and familiarity. So, yeah, an UltraEdit with full Cortana integration would be more ideal for me, but I'm asking too much for now. I rarely use mouse and keyboard these days, as most of my input is done by touch, gesture, glance, blink, and speech recognition, with speech recognition being one of my primary ways of working with my computer. One thing I would look forward to, however, is UltraEdit redone as a Windows 10 Universal App, so I can run it on my Laptop, Tablet, and Phone, and automatically sync between the 3, with a nice, modern Windows 10 touch interface. However, perhaps you're talking about UltraEdit for Linux? Is that the one you tried? Yeah, it's further behind the curve than the Windows version, but the Windows version is quite solid. UltraEdit has a modern interface, more so than many editors out there. I started programming with punch cards in the 70's as well. if you don't give several days of delving into the depths of what all it can do, you just won't be able to understand why it is so powerful. One thing I've learned about UltraEdit and UEStudio. Apparently there are a lot of people that don't agree with your assessment. I see that JetBrains boasts over 75,000 customers. I use them because being the best text editor and best IDE for my work on various text files and my various developments. UEStudio is also highly customizable which is the reason why users created lots of configurations for various C/C++/C# compilers, assemblers, interpreters like PHP and Java, etc.īut UEStudio is an IDE not designed for 1 to 5 specific developments like for example Visual Studio. This does not make a difference on writing code in C/C++, but it makes a difference for example on debugging. ![]() ![]() For example C/C++ development can be done for Windows applications on x86 based architectures, but can be also for various controllers in embedded devices. However, if UEStudio is the right tool for you depends on what you are coding. It supports also debugging for some languages and architectures within UEStudio. It has intellisense for the supported programming languages offered via IntelliTips features for the user. UEStudio is a product of IDM which is UltraEdit with additional features to become an IDE for some programming languages. There is an auto-completion feature in UltraEdit, but it is language neutral. But UltraEdit has no built-in language intellisense. (Now I'm using UEStudio.) UltraEdit has features which usually only IDE have like customizable syntax highlighting and code folding. I have done this in the past also for some controllers. UltraEdit can be extended with customizations to an IDE like tool. Therefore many use UltraEdit although not being an IDE with customizations for coding in C/C++, too. ![]() UltraEdit is highly customizable and has lots of features to make writing text (including) code very efficient. UltraEdit is basically a general text editor. It is impossible to answer your question as we don't know what are your requirements on a text editor.įor example if you want to use UltraEdit mainly for coding C/C++ using projects and expect features that IDE (Integrated Development Environment) usually offer which are designed for writing code in specific supported programming languages, UltraEdit might not be the right choice. UltraEdit is for me the best general text editor.

Started in 1979 by two friends who found their way from Buffalo, NY to the warmer and sunnier Atlanta, Taco Mac has grown from those humble beginnings to over 25 locations across the Southeast. Taco Mac offers the most “Craft on Draft”” with over 100 taps of craft and local brews, casual American fare, like fresh never frozen buffalo wings, and 35+ HD TVs for watching all your favorite sports. It is a quiet neighborhood, tucked away like a well-kept secret, and one that welcomed Taco Mac as the neighborhood hangout. Sound: Some decent music, but nothing too stirring, just enoughto fit the game, but nothing more. They look good but can't truly be called great, because any console with a decent resolution can display a still image. Graphics: The graphics look amazing but are entirely pre rendered with animations here and there. I can only see this appealing to fans of the series. This approach means all the visuals can be constructed from pre-rendered environments, that are almost photo realistic in quality, sadly though, this didn't appeal to me, I prefer to move around as I want to. Myst is entirely played through by pointing a cursor and clicking, a few seconds later you appear where you clicked. Gameplay: Its a puzzle/adventure game, but not as you may expect. Overall: Myst is a puzzle game that packs some truly awesome visuals, but not really enough gameplay. Suggestions: Don't make Myst for a console, leave it for the PC where it will be appreciated. Although there was a nice "tune" of the water, and some other nice natural effects in there. Sound: There wasn't much to say about the sound because it was mostly quiet. The only motion there is, is the movement when your doing a puzzle. But the pictures didn't really have motion (it was still), which drew off the reality quite a bit. Graphics: This game looked great! I mean there was immense detail which made it look great. However if this were a PC game it would've gotten a better score (4). Myst is not a console sort of game, with the xbox it gets annoying using the cursor for the whole game, and theres only 1 mode. Although the puzzles are challenging THIS GAME IS MEANT FOR PC! I mean who really wants to be controlling cursor with a controller, when you should do it with a mouse. Basically for the whole game your chasing this guy. Gameplay: The gameplay was pretty lame, and the story sucked to. I mean who wants to control a cursor with a controller? That is meant for the work of a mouse. Overall: This game is not meant for console. Real Myst seemed ok and all, but Exile is nicer. Suggestions: I'd like further Myst games for Xbox please. I wasn't really a big fan of Riven, but I think I'm hooked again, thanks to Exile. The surround sound is nice, and fits well with the rest of the engine improvements. Sound: The sound is great, as it always has been with this series. I could tell that it was done in 3D Studio MAX though, even before I watched the bonus content on the disc. Graphics: Visually, it's better than the first two games, and does look great. I really appreciate a game like this, from time to time. Gameplay: Gameplay, while it might seem outdated to some, is familiar, yet improved. It's nice to have more of this sort of game, especially on Xbox for people who don't like PC gaming. ![]() I’m glad this did not deter us from going. Also, the walking portion was not yet open opens after Memorial Day I think. When I called, staff told me the only animal not allowed out would be the giraffe since it was too cool still. It was overcast but not rainy (rained the day prior) but cool. If the weather is rainy and/or colder than 60 degrees, call first to see if some of the animals will not be out. Once you are actually with the animals for the short trip through the park, it is a good time. ![]() If you don't mind the extremely long wait times and the ridiculously high prices, then I recommend this facility. This is ridiculous price for the size of the facility, and the fact that us paying customers are helping them do their jobs by feeding the animals a portion of their daily diet. We have 4 people in the car and paid $114 just to sit in our car for about 3 1/2 hours with 2 cups of food (they are $15 per 1lb cup). This park is very tiny and is just a big circle (nothing even close to The Wilds). There were some babies animals there as well that just melted our hearts. We paid for feeding animals and we should have been permitted to do so. There were workers staning the aplaca area with tamberines that were scare the animals away when they would get to the car windows and just about ready to eat the food. The alpacas, cattle, and bison are very aggressive and will demand to be fed (the longhorns will also scratch your car to pieces.). Once you get to the animals it becomes a fun time. Some animals are behind double fences so you have no way to feed them. Once we got our tickets, if was a good hour wait before we got to any animals. We waited 90 minutes in the gate just to buy our tickets. We enjoyed the park so much that we went again the next day and ended up getting a season pass and went again the next day before we headed home. And the kangaroo do not eat the food offered so they allow you to feed something else twice, which I fed the tortoises twice- it was so much fun. ![]() My only complaint is that the porcupine are only fed at certain times and the brochures have the wrong times so we missed that. Then there was the petting zoo park which for $15 you could feed the tortoises, porcupine, bunnies, birds and kangaroos. They did have someone towards the end that sold more of cups of carrots, which we definitely bought. The food goes fast! Save some lettuce for the giraffes at the end. You collect the food at the entrance of the actual park. We also bought the single food package for $15 that comes with 1 cup of carrots, 1 cup of lettuce and 1 cup of feed. It was a good deal- it’s $20 per person and it comes with 1 cup of feed. We had a buy one get one free coupon that was in a coupon book purchased from a school fundraiser. There was little toll booth that you purchased your tickets at. We visited in a Wednesday, we got there around 10:30a and there was a short line that took maybe 20 minutes. ![]() Kaufman has a brilliant mind and has skills as a Director. I'M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS isn't an easy sit. The literary and cultural references are reminiscent of Godard at his most obtuse (at one point, one of the characters quotes an entire Pauline Kael film review there is a Kael book in Jake's bedroom). ![]() Kaufman has never evoked David Lynch as much he does here - in particular, the driving sequences and dark visions of LOST HIGHWAY. Is it his way of saying that he is pulling the strings of the audience? As noted at the outset, ENDING THINGS is a bit of a fun-house mirror - what reflects off of it is a distortion and open to interpretation. Kaufman's obsession with puppets and marionettes (including an entire film, ANAMOLISA, made entirely of claymation models), is again on display here with an extended Mime sequence. Kaufman's script takes liberties from Ian Reid's novel - again, one expects nothing less from him. This brings the story some sense of structure, but, the movie still raises more concerns than solace. The two stories interconnect at the High School when the young couple meet the Janitor. Instead, it's back in Jake's car and the pair travel back in the snowstorm in a sequence even longer than the initial drive. The mood is unbearably tense, abetted by Lukasz Zal's (IDA) cinematography, Jay Wadley's score and Molly Hughes' production design The movie is framed in the classic 1:37 aspect ratio to heighten the constrained feel. The sustained build-up has no release valve. A visit to Jake's boyhood bedroom reveals it's own house of horrors along with clues as to what may be going on inside his fractured mind. Meanwhile, a middle-aged Janitor (Guy Boyd) toils away alone in the local high school. The couple (Toni Collette, David Thewlis) seem to age and de-age at will as if showing the span of Jake's relationship with them. Meeting the parents doesn't ease the tension. By the time they arrive there is already a sense of dread from the title, the creepy narration and an overall mood of upcoming doom. The extended drive in a raging snowstorm to his family home takes over 20 minutes. The young man is Jake (Jesse Plemmons quite good) and the unnamed girlfriend (who also narrates) is played by an excellent Jesse Buckley. Anyone familiar with the work of Charlie Kaufman (BEING JOHN MALKOVICH, SYNECDOCHE NEW YORK) won't either be surprised or expect anything else. But, in this fun-house mirror of a movie, all is not as it appears. ![]() ![]() A simple enough set-up for film, even if the title hints that all may not go well. We're able to pick up on the sadness of the scene, knowing that the janitor is dead in the car, even though you can't see any people in it.Ī young man invites his new girlfriend to drive out and meet his parents. The 2nd, and actually is the last scene is where the car was completely covered in snow it references back to the idea of landscape shots without any people in it. When he was being awarded Nobel prize, I believe the meaning in his head that he believes that actually people deserves a happy endings, just like in movies or books who his whole memories are mixed with! And the audience are all the people that he actually met in his life that left an impact in him, good or not. As the movie ends, there are 2 of the last scenes i wanna share my thoughts about. The deepest fear was being a school janitor for the rest of his life and squandering all of his talent and intelligence. ( side note: I thought when she was thinking of ending things that it meant the relationship, but as the movie played I understood that its Jake thinking of ending life ) He also didn't want her to go into the basement but she disobeyed him. He thought he was in control of the memory / fantasy, but the characters started acting independently from him. And every now and then there's a new name for her and a new backstory of how they met or what she even do! Jake is also very confused to find she has gained awareness, as seen when she starts thinking, "I'm thinking of ending things." and he looks over in shock. The whole movie is a mix up of imagined and real memories in the janitors head, whom is Jake btw but the whole idea of the movie making us consecrate on the girl who's in fact only in his imagination mad eus believe she's the star! As we saw in a lot of scenes, she is incredibly confused to find herself aware in this environment and cannot remember her own name or anything about herself. ![]() ![]() ![]() EMA delves into dub-heavy sounds ahead of BICEP's ascension to the stage, showing off her emphasis on low-end frequencies. Why doesn’t Captivate 2019 work? Ask Adobe.Įric Butow is owner of Butow Communications Group and keeper of this blog. The bad news is that the next version of RoboHelp is coming in June. Now I can finish the course in May after eight months of waiting for Adobe. The good news is that version works properly. I found Adobe Captivate 2017 on my Windows machine. Adobe made it that way.Ĭaptivate is one app in Adobe’s Technical Communication Suite, and so I’ve spent almost $400 for a suite with an app that doesn’t work.īut I got lucky. Yes, Adobe Captivate 2019 is hot garbage. You can’t have a product fail unless people don’t want to take care of it. Like Captivate 2017, the previous version. I told him there was no need because the problem was simple: I need a video that plays in Captivate the same way it does in my media player app. After all, it may be fixed in the next version. He claimed he didn’t understand why that was a problem. Compare the similarities and differences between software options with real user reviews focused on features, ease of use, customer service, and value for money. I finally received a second fix in April. Adobe Learning Manager has 664 reviews and a rating of 4.27 / 5 stars vs Udemy Business which has 97 reviews and a rating of 4.63 / 5 stars. When I sent e-mail, it was the “couple of weeks” refrain. When I first talked to them, they told me to get back to them in a couple of weeks if I didn’t hear from them. I also talked with a member of their development team. I was able to connect with the Captivate product manager. In eight months, they came up with one fix that didn’t work. When I imported that file and tried to play it, I discovered the video problem.Īdobe customer support identified the bug in September 2019. I was able to record the screen and export the recording to a video file without any trouble. So, why can’t Captivate do that? This seems like basic functionality. After all, it makes sense to have instructions on the screen happen at about the same time the student hears the directions. Having video that plays at its correct fps rate is important. The video itself plays at 30 frames per second (fps). That is, when I inserted a video file and audio file into one project, the video played at one frame every five seconds. In Captivate 2019, the ability to create a project is broken. This course will be published on Udemy in spring 2020.
